  The effects of heat treatment on δ ferrite transformation for austenitic stainless steel billet 00Cr24Ni13 have been investigated.The result shows that the continuous mesh δ ferrite in the billet will disconnect and grow up as the heating temperature increased.Prolonging the holding time will mainly affect the disconnection degree of the reticular δ ferrite.Air cooling will induce the δ ferrite which grows up in the high temperature to transform to the granular δ ferrite with the small size.After air cooling from 1 200℃ for 3 h,continuous reticular δ ferrite has completely transformed into dispersed granular δ ferrite with the size less than 10 μm,and δ phase proportion has decreased from 14.3 % to 7.3%.Relative to the granular ferrite,phase interface of reticular ferrite is easier to crack during rolling process.
