“40多年来,水利电力系统的翻译工作者为新中国的水利电力建设事业作出了积极的贡献。在当前深化改革和对外开放的大好形势下,希望大家继续努力,不断提高,当好桥梁,为促进水利电力事业的国际经济技术合作与交流发挥更大的作用。”“认真做好翻译工作,加强国际交流合作,为水利电力事业的发展做出贡献。”这是水利部副部长张春园和电力工业部副部长汪恕诚在写给首届水利电力翻译学会代表会议的贺词中,对全国水利、电力系统翻译工作者辛勤劳动所作的肯定及提出的殷切希望。 此次会议是建国以来水电系统召开的、第一次有多语种翻译工作者参加的会议,它受到两部领导的高度重视。除部领导发来贺词外,两部负责外事工作的杨定源司长和谭艾辛司长还出席开幕式并作了讲话。中国译协副秘书长王希鲁、中国科学院科技翻译协会秘书长李亚舒也出席了会议并向大会致贺词。
