The contemporary literary critic Lawrence Boolean believes that there is a specific construction process in American pastoralism. Only by revealing the formation of natural concepts and historical reasons can we truly understand nature and protect the environment. Pastoralist nationalism, pastoral literature, elitism and pastoral criticism of skepticism constitute the three pillars of Buard’s rural outlook. Recognizing pastoral tradition construction process helps people make full use of the inextricably links between human beings and the environment and awaken the awareness of environmental protection.
