柑桔是世界重要水果,其中甜橙约占70%,它为桔汁加工和周年供应(主要为伏令夏橙)提供条件,且以品质优良(主要为脐橙)闻名于世。但我国目前甜橙产量只占30%左右。我省1987年约有甜橙15000亩,不到全省柑桔面积的1%。全省宽皮桔约占95%,其中11月成熟的温州蜜柑约占72%,不利于柑桔周年供应、制汁和外销,从而影响柑桔的进一步发展。有人根据甜橙在世界柑桔中占主要地位,主张在我省东南集中成片大力发展甜橙,包括在那里选择一些小气侯适宜地发展伏令夏橙;但也有人根据我省自然和社会经济条件,主张大力发展柚和杂柑类,而在普通甜橙适宜区适当发展甜橙,至于发展伏令夏橙不如大力发展日本甜夏橙。笔者根据着眼当前,面向未来,立足浙
