湖南医学院图书馆新馆于1984年8月破土动工,1986年5月底竣工,7月15日正式开馆。新馆建筑面积为7200平方米(不包括本馆书库面积),可藏书50多万册,拥有近1000个阅览座位。分别设有教师、学生,外文期刊、中文医学期刊、中文社会科学期刊、检索工具书刊、缩微和视听阅览室,还有中文医学,科技、外文、文艺书库等借阅部门。新馆是按开架借阅设计的,一切方便读者。采用了辅助书库与阅览相结合的布局方式.缩微、视听、微机、图书监测器等现代化设备即将投入使用,这些设备将为我院
