《上云乐》首创于梁武帝萧衍,其歌辞的道教气息浓厚。这种浓厚的道教风格对曲辞的创作产生了较大影响,使其曲辞在整体的文本表述、内部音乐形式的文字表现、单首歌辞的创作以及和声的运用等都呈现出一种从低到高、从简单到复杂的逐渐递增的趋势。这种趋势与道教作品的语言表达、道教的科仪活动有着密切的联系。从道教的影响角度来分析《上云乐》的艺术特点是一个重要的切入点。
