This paper briefly introduces the background and development process of wavelet theory, and introduces the concept and basic characteristics of wavelet transform in detail, as well as the detection and filtering of signal mutation based on wavelet transform and the transient spectral research methods and results based on wavelet packet transform. After that, the application of wavelet transform in seismic signal processing is discussed.
