电火花强化是一种既简便又灵活的金属表面处理方法。它是通过火花放电的作用,把一种导电的材料涂复到另一种导电材料的表面,从而改变后者表面的物理、化学性能。譬如:把硬质合金材料涂复到用碳素钢或合金钢制成的工模具成机械零件的表面,就能提高其表面的硬度,增加耐磨性、耐蚀性,从而延长使用寿命。电火花强化工艺与离子氮化、气相沉积、渗金属法等相比较,具有操作简单、工作可靠、成本低、不需要昂贵的真空系统和电子系统等优点。1979年,我厂在兄弟单位的大力协助下,使用了电火花强化工艺,效果良好。现将推广使用情况介绍如下。
EDM is a simple and flexible metal surface treatment method.
