金属表面的电火花强化法,是在直流脉冲电路中,采用硬质合金、石墨或铜等导电材料作为工具电极(一般接电源正极),在空气中与被强化工件(一般接电源负极)之间发生电火花放电,由于火花放电时释放出大量的能量,就将电极材料熔渗到工件表面,使工件表面形成一层组织结构较为复杂的强化层。它能改善工件表面的物理、化学和机械性能,而又保持基体金属原始的性能,因此,能显著的延长工件的使用寿命。
