随着高新技术的发展,人们已能制造出与原子的辐射波长相近大小Q值很高的腔体,在如此小的腔体中,原子与腔场相互作用具有很多非常有趣的性质。J-C模型描写的是具有有效两能级的单原子与单模场的相互作用。如果两个原子同时进入单模场区域,并且两个原子间通过交换虚光子产生偶极-偶极相互作用,将导致很多新的非经典效应,如共振荧光谱、辐射谱、理想腔体中的双原子辐射谱和原子反转的崩塌与恢复,等等。
