Natural gamma logging alone or in conjunction with other logging methods solves a series of special geological problems. Especially in the piedmont area, saltwater distribution area; it is even more indispensable in engineering geologic investigation such as dam and well under casing. This paper presents some examples of some hydrogeological engineering geological problems solved by gamma ray logging in different sedimentary environments and different applications. Natural gamma ray logging is a method of studying natural radioactivity along a wellbore. The intensity of natural radioactivity in sedimentary rocks increases with the increase of clay content. Clay, loam, shale shale, muddy siltstone (layer) the most radioactive,
