Singapore’s Minister of Health Balaji said that Singapore has begun to directly inform HIV-positive patients of their spouses to prevent the further spread of AIDS. Singapore official spokesman Sadasivan said that since July 2005, Singapore had handed over the relevant letters directly to the hands of 41 women to inform her husband that HIV infection was positive. The official spokesperson did not elaborate on this issue. More detailed content was published on the official website. Previously, women were not aware of the spouse’s HIV status and were therefore faced with the AIDS virus.
