怎样提高戏曲现代戏的艺术水平,开拓更广阔的道路?是大家共同关心的问题。以前,我和许多同志一样,主张在“戏曲化”上下功夫,既在实践中这样探索,又写文章阐述这种观点。不过,现在我对“戏曲化”这一提法本身是否科学,却产生怀疑了。我愈来愈觉得,“戏曲化”的提法不但无助于解决戏曲现代戏面临的矛盾,而且已成为一种束缚,阻碍着创新。
