本报告阐述了两个高效率、高可靠性的功率源与行波管放大器组合装置。这两个放大器是特意为长寿命卫星环境设计的,是综合利用微波技术和固态电路学最新成果的产物。S波段放大器(WJ—164)利用了工作在2.2~2.4千兆赫波段上的周期性永磁聚焦行波管(WJ—227)。WJ—227行波管是至今宇宙空间用到的唯一的10瓦S波段管。整个放大器组合装置的典型电气和机械特性是:高频输出功率12瓦,高频输入功率3~6毫瓦,直流与高频转换效率22%,噪声系数小于30分贝,重量6.2磅,体积110立方时。X波段放大器(WJ—130)利用了单个反向永磁聚焦行波管(WJ—251),它能够工作在7.25~7.75千兆赫波段上。其典型电气和机械特性是:高频输出功率2.5瓦,饱和增益36分贝,直流与高频转换效率25%,噪声系数24分贝,重量6.5磅,体积115立方时。在直流输入为24~30伏时,两个放大器均能满足各项技术条件;而在直流输入变为20~50伏时,也能完好无损地进行工作。每个放大器还具有3分钟时间延迟和五个用来监视管子和功率源工作性能的检察遥测电路。
This report describes two high-efficiency, high-reliability power source and TWT amplifier combo devices. These two amplifiers are specifically designed for long-life satellite environments and are the product of a combination of recent advances in microwave technology and solid state electronics. The S-band amplifier (WJ-164) utilizes a periodic permanent magnet focusing traveling wave tube (WJ-227) operating in the 2.2-2.4 GHz band. The WJ-227 traveling wave tube is the only 10-watt S-band tube used to date in space. The typical electrical and mechanical characteristics of the entire amplifier assembly are: high-frequency output power of 12 watts, high-frequency input power of 3 to 6 milliwatts, DC and high frequency conversion efficiency of 22%, noise figure of less than 30 dB, weight of 6.2 pounds, volume of 110 Cubic The X-band amplifier (WJ-130) utilizes a single reverse-oriented PMWT (WJ-251) that operates over the 7.25-7.75 GHz band. Its typical electrical and mechanical characteristics are: high-frequency output power of 2.5 watts, 36 dB of saturation gain, 25% DC and high frequency conversion efficiency, 24 dB noise figure, weight of 6.5 pounds, volume of 115 cubic meters. When the DC input is 24 ~ 30V, both amplifiers can meet the various technical conditions; and when the DC input becomes 20 ~ 50V, can work intact. Each amplifier also has a 3-minute time delay and five detector telemetry circuits to monitor the performance of tubes and power sources.
