美国将于1991年6月发射6号陆地卫星。6号陆地卫星的轨道高度为705km,倾角98.2°,仍为太阳同步卫星。它所携带的传感器称为增强型专题成像仪(ETM),即改进型TM。除了TM的7个波段外,还将增加一个全色波段,分辨率为15m,覆盖面积185×170km,与TM的7个波段覆盖范围重迭。 6号陆地卫星还将携带一个海洋宽视传感器。这种传感器将可获得类似于目前NOAA系列卫星的甚高分辨率辐射计和海洋带彩色扫描仪所得到的数据。
The United States will launch the No. 6 Terrestrial Satellite in June 1991. Land No. 6 satellite orbit height of 705km, inclination 98.2 °, still the sun synchronous satellite. The sensor it carries is called the Enhanced Feature Imager (ETM), the Advanced TM. In addition to the seven bands of TM, a panchromatic band with a resolution of 15 m and a coverage area of 185 × 170 km will be added, overlapping the 7 bands of TM. Landsat 6 will also carry a marine wide-viewing sensor. This sensor will yield data from very high resolution radiometers and marine color scanners similar to the current NOAA series of satellites.
