2000年国内煤炭供应量同比增加了4154万t，国内煤炭需求同比增长了4000万t，煤炭出口同比增长了44．8%，市场价格稳中有升。认为,下半年应加大压库工作力度，加大控制总量关井压产力度。应积极营造煤炭市场环境，努力实现煤炭供求基本平衡和煤炭市场的根本好转。
