In the past 40 years of China’s reform and opening-up, tourism has experienced explosive growth and leapfrogging development. The means and style of traveling which ordinary people use greatly varies, making it a norm of public life.
High-speed railways and planes allow passengers to visit the magnificent Forbidden City in Beijing in the morning and enjoy a stroll along the Huangpu River in Shanghai in the evening. Travelers can choose luxurious hotels, and unique homestays, or they can decide to live in rustic agritainment, in which they can experience the folk customs, taste local flavors, purchase specialties, and enjoy beautiful views of the countryside. With modern conveniences, travelers do not have to carry a lot of cash with them when traveling. They can have self-driving tours anytime they want and make purchases with mobile payment. Tourism has become an important industry for stimulating rural revitalization. Villages are being turned into a poetic home, providing tourists with more and better tourism products and services. They attract more tourists to experience nature, and allow visitors to enjoy a better life in the countryside that has lucid waters and green mountains.

  Issue No.1, 2019
Over the past 40 years, with the continuous development and deepening of reform and opening-up, China’s rule of law has made unprecedented achievements, embarking on a path of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics.
In 40 years, China’s legislative work and the endeavor of reform and opening-up have accompanied each other. In particular, in terms of economic legislation, a series of laws and regulations are constantly refined and operable on the basis of summing up practical experience. The content of legislation is also more and more specific and comprehensive.
China’s economic legislation has been crossing the economic river by feeling the stones, and three of these stones are related to the direction of China’s economic legislation. The first stone is marketization, which is actually the engine of economic development. Without following the road of marketization, it would be difficult for economic and social development to complement each other. The second stone is social justice, which is the foundation of economic development. The third stone is the foundation of the legal system, which is the red line of economic reform.
The 40-year history of reform and opening-up of China has been one of a political reform which is constantly changing, improving and pursuing sustainable development that is based on the rule of law. It is also a history that uses the rule of law to lead, standardize, promote and guarantee reform and opening-up, and economic and social development.
