京剧按类型化创造舞台形象,但京剧表演艺术的高下往往见之于能否在类型中出人物的特色,能否在严格的程式中闪现演员创造力的光芒。老旦是京剧中对封建时代老年妇女形态的提炼。京剧中的老旦多属配角,以老旦为主的戏也有,但不多,就那么几出。由于老年妇女心态凝重,手脚不灵,行动不便,决定了老旦在戏曲的四功五法中发挥的余地大受限制。拿着龙头拐杖,收胸偻腰,颤颤巍巍,慢慢悠悠的老旦,形态让人熟悉到实在没有多少新鲜感了。
