近一年多来,关于高校图书馆社会化问题,成了图书馆界的热门话题,不时有文章发表,笔者颈受教益.本文拟对此论谈谈浅见,以求教于广大同仁.一、从高校图书馆与公共图书馆现状分析看高校图书馆对外开放的必要性1988年以来,由于《普通高等学校图书馆规程》的贯彻执行和高校图书馆评估工作的顺利开展,我国高校图书馆事业得到了较大发展.截止92年底,全国普通高校图书馆已发展到1079所;成人高校图书馆已发展到1373所.两类高校图书馆年购书经费达亿元;图书馆建筑面积610万平方米.藏书已过四亿.这是一个不小的数字.据笔者不完全统计,全国两类高校这么多的藏书,但由于种种原因,利用率却不高.利用率最高的馆也是库存藏书量的31%;利用率低的馆仅占库存藏书量的5——6%;平均值为20.5%;也就是说,
