对河西走廊西端的酒东盆地文殊山背斜剖面开展的磁性地层学工作初步结果表明,疏勒河群胳塘沟组、牛胳套组和玉门砾岩的年代分别约为>11~8.6,8.6~4.5和4.5~0.9 Ma.沉积环境分析发现从约8.6~7.6 Ma起青藏高原北部从较低的高度开始逐步持续的缓慢隆起,较青藏高原东北部要早,但并无证据显示当时已经达到最高.玉门砾岩出现代表的强烈隆升开始于约4.5 Ma.
Preliminary results of magnetic stratigraphy work carried out on the Wenshushan anticline in the east of Hexi Corridor in the Jiadong Basin show that the ages of the Qisanggou Formation, the Niujialu Formation and the Yumen conglomerate in the Shule River Group are respectively about 11 ~ 8.6 , 8.6-4.5 and 4.5-0.9 Ma.Analysis of sedimentary environment revealed that the northern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau started to gradually escalate slowly from about 8.6 to 7.6 Ma earlier than the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, but there was no evidence Has reached its highest level.The strong uplift represented by the Yumen conglomerate began at about 4.5 Ma.
