在侵华日军南京大屠杀前后,由西方基督教会创办与主持的金陵大学(鼓楼)医院的中、美医护人员,在“南京安全区国际委员会”的领导下,抱着人道主义精神,不顾危险,奋勇抢救中国伤病员,与日军的暴行进行坚决的斗争,还克服重重困难,向国际新闻界揭露日军南京大屠杀的暴行。他们在日伪的政治高压与经济封锁下所进行的重要而崇高的工作一直持续到1941年12月8日太平洋战争爆发。这是我们研究南京大屠杀史与抗日战争史中不应忽视的内容。
Before and after the massacre of the Nanjing Massacre in Japan, the Chinese and U.S. medical and nursing staffs at the Jinling University (Drum Tower) Hospital, which was founded and chaired by the Christian Church of West China, are under the leadership of the “International Committee of the Nanjing Security Zone.” With humanitarianism, In spite of danger, they volunteered to rescue Chinese wounded and sick people, resolutely fight the atrocities committed by the Japanese army, and also overcome numerous difficulties in disclosing to the international news media the atrocities committed by the Nanjing massacre in Japan. Their important and noble work under the political pressure and economic blockade by the Japanese and Pupils lasted until December 8, 1941, when the Pacific War broke out. This is what we should not overlook in the history of the Nanjing Massacre and the War of Resistance Against Japan.
