In the past, two kinds of rock explosion coupling - geometry coupling and impedance coupling have been studied. The strain amplitude created by the explosion in the borehole shows that it varies with the radius of the pack and the size of the borehole. The strain amplitude and strain energy in the rock also indicate that they depend on the nature of the explosive and the nature of the medium surrounding the borehole. We also noticed the difference with acoustic prediction.
