美国籽粒苋是一种高蛋白多用途饲料作物,根据我们的栽培试验表明,美国籽粒觅植株高达3.4m,亩产鲜草0.74万公斤。亩产籽种588公斤。美国籽粒觅花期营养价值最高,粗蛋白含量17.5%。粗纤维16.71%,比其它牧草都低。通过奶牛饲喂试验,试验组比对照组,奶牛日均增奶无显著差异。由于美国籽粒觅生长期短,在水肥条件好的情况下,能获得高产,因此适宜在甘肃河西三地区武威、张掖、酒泉和一些灌溉条件较好的川水地带大面积推广种植,特别是在小麦收割前后,进行套种、复种,效益更好。 American amaranth is a high-protein multi-purpose forage crop.
