玛丽·雪莱在创作《弗兰肯斯坦》的过程中有意识地融入了自己的生态思想,探讨了她所处时代科技、人与自然之间的关系,指出科技发展不应盲目,而是要注重人性,否则人会逐渐异化,人性扭曲,继而成为科技的牺牲品。要摆脱异化,就要积极地融入自然,因为自然具有治愈心灵创伤的神奇疗效。与此同时,人们还应加强人文学科的发展,培养个人对自然的感悟,认识自然的重要性,树立正确的生态观,只有与自然科学的发展结合起来才能保持完整的人性。
