Stanadyne Automotive has developed an electronically controlled diesel injection system for modern and future direct and non-direct injection engines that are highly sensitive to emissions. The heart of the injection system is a DS-type rotor distributor pump. DS Pumps Deliver Higher Injection Pressure for Next-Generation Direct Injection Diesel Engines to Improve Oil-Gas Mixing. A single solenoid actuator controls fuel metering and fuel injection timing, and solenoids provide digital fuel control that allows each injection to be precisely processed. The electronic control unit captures the operating status information of the engine and fuel system and determines the appropriate value of the electromagnetic pulse for optimal fuel pump and engine operation.
