The Chinese theme occupies an important position in the history of modern Japanese literature. The portrayal by Japanese writers of the customs of the Chinese people not only shows the identity of both peoples but also conveys some pursuit and directness. Among the many Japanese works that are closely linked with China, it is not hard to see that apart from looking and cherishing the memory of the history of China, there is also contempt and misunderstanding based on modern relations. The two countries, both historically and modernly, can not be separated from each other, and their literary images also undergo some kind of separation and blending. To understand contemporary China in modern Japanese literary works, its significance and function In addition to the communication of literary forms, more is the experience and understanding of China’s classic and modern image.
