Objective: To observe the changes of serum proteins and lipids in children with glomerular disease secondary to high urinary protein excretion. Methods: Serum total protein, albumin, cholesterol and 24-hour urinary protein excretion of children with secondary glomerular disease with hepatitis B nephritis and purpura nephritis were measured and compared with primary renal disease and normal controls. The results showed that the serum total protein and albumin in hepatitis B nephritis and purpuric nephritis group were significantly lower than those in normal group, and the levels of cholesterol and 24-hour urinary protein excretion were significantly higher than those in normal control (P <0.05) Nephrotic syndrome. CONCLUSIONS: Protein and lipid metabolism abnormalities also exist in children with secondary glomerular diseases, which are characterized by high urinary protein excretion, which should be emphasized.
