Aims: To assess the relationship between the dominant group of college students and the left / right hand. Methods: The subjects were 179 college students volunteers, with an average age of 19.4 ± 1.6 years, including 110 women (61.5%) and 69 men (38.5%). The dominant eye was measured by both Göndogan and McManus, with the left or right hand determined by the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory Oldfield and the McManus method. The t-test evaluated the confidence of the experiment. Results: Gndogan method measured 110 subjects (61.5%) for the right eye advantage, 69 (38.5%) for the left eye advantage, no gender differences. The McManus test reassigned the same subjects, and the right / left eye odds were 128 (71.5%) and 51 (28.5%), respectively. The results obtained by the two methods were correlated with a concordance of κ = 0.256 (P <0.01). Among female subjects, the Gndogan method had 62 (56.4%) and 48 (43.6%) right- and left-eye advantages, respectively, and the McManus method had a right / left eye advantage of 74 67.3%) and 36 (32.7%). Fisher test test results of the two methods (P <0.05), the consistency of κ = 0.239 (P <0.01). Among male subjects, the right / left eye superiority was 48 (69.6%) and 21 (30.3%) in the Gndogan method, 54 (78.3%) and 15 (21.7% ). Fisher test test results were correlated (P> 0.05), the agreement was κ = 0.239 (P <0.01). Oldfield and McManus test showed that the right hand percentage was 91.6% (n = 164) and 91.1% (n = 163), respectively, with a high degree of agreement κ = 0.753 (P <0.01). The statistical correlation between the dominant eye and the left or right hand detected by McManus method was significant (Fisher test P <0.017; consistency score phi = 0.193 (P <0.05) .Conclusion: Lord, McManus’s test found that right-handedness seemed more relevant to the superiority of the eye. Left- or right-handedness and predominant eyes seem to be the most reliable ways to study brain functional asymmetry and cerebral hemiparesis.
