In order to enhance industrial competitiveness, both as a “world hardware factory” in China, or as “the world’s software factory,” India, are vigorously developing the IC design industry. Due to the different modes of development of the upstream electronics industry, the two countries may once again embark on different development paths. For China’s IC design industry, due to the huge demand for downstream electronic machine manufacturing industry, the advantage will continue to be “hard” in SoC design. For India, the advantages in software outsourcing and service will continue. Take the “soft” line, to develop silicon IP and related services. However, while the current focus of IC design industry in China is SoC, it is a long-term strategy to continuously accumulate intellectual property including silicon IP. For India, the initial silicon IP business may be more of a SoC design outsourcing services, do not have their own real IP, build up their core IP, is also India’s long-term choice.
