阜新矿业学院爆破室于1993年2月和3月为阜新发电厂爆破拆除4座高56米,底部直径46米的冷却塔。爆破部位直径40m,爆破切口长75m,保留部分长44m,壁厚0.25～0.35m,每个塔起爆孔数1100个,装药量42kg,爆破时。距冷却塔25m 远的主发电机正常发电,距7米远的消防泵站安然无恙。
