Today, Shanghai’s fashionable landmark “Xintiandi” on the back, Shunchang Road 550-565 is already a noisy crowded residential area. Some older residents here still vividly remember the traces of the last period of history left in the buildings when they first moved in the early 1950s. There was a sign hung in front of a house that said “Shanghai Art College ends its work Department ”. It shows that there once existed as a fine arts school. It is a century ago, by Liu Haisu, Wu Shiguang, who founded the first modern art school in China - the Shanghai United States.
