Foreign language learning is not only a study of language knowledge, but also a systematic cognition of a certain ethnic group and a culture. Foreign language learning must attach great importance to the study of the culture embedded in the language. Foreign language teaching must also strengthen the cultural introduction of language phenomena. This article will elaborate on the relationship between language and culture and the difference of language, and put forward suggestions on how to strengthen the cultural background in the teaching of language and to cultivate students’ cultural awareness in foreign language learning.
