Scientists have found that much of the pain we are currently experiencing comes from human evolution, such as back pain, labor pain, toothache and so on. In an evolutionary sense, mankind is by far the most successful primate on Earth, with a world population of nearly 7 billion. The success of human evolution has led to many well-known adaptive features, such as large and complex minds, and two legs standing upright, but at the same time these advances pose many problems. Alan Mann, an anthropologist from Princeton University, said: “We are dealing with the scars of human evolution, and evolution does not produce perfect.”
