民族文学外译的可信度透视——以徐穆实《额尔古纳河右岸》的英译为例

不同于一般文学作品,民族文学有其独特性,这种独特性正是其译介出去的难点,也对译者提出了更高的要求。本文以徐穆实的代表译作The Last Quarter of the Moon(《额尔古纳河右岸》)为研究对象,从对民族特有词语的翻译、对话形式转换和语段添减等方面入手,通过原文与译文的对比,来探究徐穆实的翻译策略和翻译思想。徐穆实充分尊重原文,尽可能保证对原文准确地翻译,同时他的翻译又有着独特的个人色彩,最大限度地保证了原文的可信度和可读性。徐穆实通过两方面的兼顾与平衡,证明中国文学走出去并不是非要削足适履以迎合西方人的价值观,而是要在充分尊重和保留原作的特色的基础上适当调整,以尽可能保证作品的可信度和真实性,以独特而又可信的方式走出国门,走向世界。 Different from the general literary works, the national literature has its uniqueness. This uniqueness is exactly the difficulty of its translation and introduction, and also puts forward higher requirements on the translators. This article takes the translation of Xu Mu-shih’s representative as The Last Quarter of the Moon as the research object, from the perspectives of the translation of the national unique words, the transformation of conversational forms and the addition of passages, To explore Xu Mushi’s translation strategies and translation ideas. Xu Mu Shi fully respects the original text, as far as possible to ensure accurate translation of the original, and his translation has a unique personal color, to the maximum extent possible to ensure the credibility and readability of the original. By combining and balancing two aspects, Xu Mushi proves that it is not necessary for Chinese literature to go abroad in order to cater to Westerners’ values. Instead, it should make appropriate adjustments on the basis of fully respecting and preserving the original features so as to ensure that works Credibility and authenticity, a unique and credible way to go abroad, to the world.
