Wenzhou Port is located in the southeast coast of China and has better location advantages and conditions for establishing a port. After long-term construction, Wenzhou Port now has five major port areas: Laogang District, Yangfushan Port Area, Longwan Port Area, Qiligang District and Xiamen Port Area, becoming a port area integrating the port of Hekou and the deep-water port, Berth supporting the comprehensive port. There are 121 berths in Wenzhou Port, of which 7 are deep-water berths above 10,000-tonnage and 8 are berths of 5,000-tonnage. The maximum berthing capacity is 50,000-tonne. The expansion from the southern bank of Oujiang River to the north bank has been initially realized. Oral extension of the port layout. The annual capacity of Wenzhou Port increased from 5.21 million tons at the end of the “Eighth Five-Year” Plan to 14.16 million tons at present, with a container passing capacity of 200,000 TEUs. The cargo throughput increased from 6 million tons at the end of the Eighth Five-Year Plan to 13.14 million tons in 2001 and 100,000 TEU in international containers. It is estimated that the throughput of goods in Hong Kong will exceed 16 million tons in 2002; the container is expected to reach 150,000 TEU throughout the year. According to our analysis and forecast, after entering the WTO, Wenzhou port cargo throughput, especially the throughput of foreign trade will have greater growth. Predict Wenzhou Port throughput in 2008 will exceed 30 million tons. After joining the WTO, Wenzhou, as a distribution center for international light industrial products, is very conducive to the development of port container transport. It is estimated that in 2008 container throughput will exceed 500,000 TEUs.
