就大众传播的发展实践来看,新闻媒介已经得到认可的功能大致有以下四种:监视环境,联系社会,传递文化以及娱乐功能。近十几年来,随着互联网的兴起和发展,网络媒体渐成气候。较之传统媒体,网络的发展速度是空前的,因此有人惊呼第四媒体的出现将会改变现有媒体的站位秩序。实际上,不管网络的影响和效果如何,它与传统媒体都有很大不同,这不仅表现在传播内容,传播方式,广告宣传,经营管理等诸多方面,而且长期以来形成的关于新闻传播的许多理论在网络中也有了不同程度的改变和转化。本文试图对互联网时代网络媒体(注:此处的网络媒体指的是纯粹的网络,也就是大型的综合性门户网站和各类专业性网站,不包括传统媒体的网络版或电子版。)的以上四种媒介功能进行简单的分析。

In the past decade or so, with the rise and development of the Internet, the online media has become more and more popular.
