内容提要胡敦复是最早在我国引进现代科学教育的先驱者之一.他曾任游美学务处(现清华大学前身)教务长,负责考选庚款直接留美学生的工作.后创办我国私立现代大学——大同大学.他又是一位数学家,曾任中国数学会董事会的首任主席.本文介绍胡敦复早年在培养人才、创建高等学校及传播现代数学方面的业绩.
Executive Summary Hu Dunfu was one of the earliest pioneers in introducing modern science education in our country.He served as the Dean of the Department of Tourism (now the predecessor of Tsinghua University), responsible for examining and selecting directly for the students of Gengzhengmei.After the founding of our country private modern university - Datong University, a mathematician who served as the first chairman of the board of directors of the Chinese Mathematical Society This essay describes the achievements of Hu Dunfu in his early years in training talents, establishing institutions of higher learning and disseminating modern mathematics.
