In 1944, Liang Sicheng set an English noun for “Ancient Architecture” in his article “Why Study Chinese Architecture?” And called it “Historical Landmark.” This term can be described in the phrase, the nature of the historic building, meaning accurately expressed. History is the thing that has passed. Although the figures and events have passed away, many things have left behind. Among them, the largest number, the most massive, the most authentic images and the most abundant connotations are the buildings that constitute a wide range of historical landmarks. History should include two facts. One is the social status of politics, economy and culture at the time. The other is the humanistic status of fashion, customs and taste at the time. The former is the passage, the latter is the weft; the former is the thing, the latter is the heart. Interweaving Jingwei Jincheng
