Imagining the community through music is a common phenomenon in British literature from ancient to modern times. On the basis of the work done by Phyllis Veliver, we can extend the study of British novels spanning from 1840 to 1910 to the entire history of British literature. Among the outstanding British literary works, whether it is a music event, a music scene, or a musical image, all strongly call for national identity, which provides enlightenment for the construction of the public sphere and the construction of public culture. Behind these music events / scenes / images are the intersection and interaction of various social / political discourses, which are the continuous efforts by generations of writers to reshape the community.
