In immunocytochemical studies of sensitive antigens such as lymphocyte membrane markers, it is necessary to immobilize and process the tissue samples to ensure that their antigenicity (especially weak antigens) is not destroyed. Methanol / H 2 O 2, commonly used to block the endogenous peroxidase activity (EPA) in samples, has the damaging effect on some antigens. The authors compared the effects of methanol / H 2 O and their substituted cyclopropanes, hydrates, sodium azide and propylthiouracil on EPA and toxicity to IFP on frozen and paraffin-embedded sections.
