美国女子高校是美国多样化高等教育中的重要力量,对美国女性高等教育的发展起着很大的推动作用。尽管女子高校的数量和规模无法与美国一流研究型大学分庭抗礼,但其历史影响和社会作用却毫不逊色。本文以韦尔斯利学院为例,对美国女子学院的办学特色和发展之道做一分析。
The American women’s colleges and universities are important forces in the diversification of higher education in the United States and play a significant role in promoting the development of American women’s higher education. Although the number and size of women’s colleges and universities can not be as good as the top-tier research universities in the United States, their historical impact and social function have not diminished. This article takes Wellesley College as an example to make an analysis of the schooling characteristics and development of American Women’s College.
