阿甘本认为,马克思没有能够发展出与其历史观念相适应的时间理论,有必要用神学的时间观补充历史唯物主义的“不足”。在他看来,真实的时间是充实的、非连续的快乐时间,它不把希望延缓至未来某一时刻。弥赛亚时间就是当下的俗世时间,它试图把过去和万物涵括在当下,通过弥赛亚的复活而获得个体的拯救。阿甘本时间观的局限性表现在:因为忽视普通劳动者的物质生产实践,缺失了时间的客体维度,只剩下个体圣贤式的主体维度。马克思的时间观是一种综合了主体维度和客体维度的辩证时间观。阿甘本忽略了时间的客体维度,是对马克思唯物主义时间观的严重误解和扭曲。
Forrest Gump believes that Marx has not been able to develop a time theory that is compatible with his historical conception and that it is necessary to supplement the “inadequacy” of historical materialism with theological perspective. In his view, the real time is fulfilling, non-contiguous happy time, it does not delay the hope until some point in the future. The time of the Messiah is the moment of earthly time, trying to include the past and all things in the present, and to obtain individual salvation through the resurrection of the Messiah. The limitations of Forrest Gump’s time view lie in the neglect of the material production practices of ordinary laborers, the absence of the object dimension of time, and the subjectivity of individual saints. Marx’s concept of time is a dialectical view of time that combines the dimensions of subject and object. Forrest Gump ignores the object dimension of time and is a serious misunderstanding and distortion of the Marxist materialist time concept.
