在90年代初期,St.Joseph医院的BertM.Glaser等人首先将此生长因子用于人类。
Macular hole is a disease that can cause serious vision loss. A new drug consisting of TGF-β 2 can improve its therapeutic effect. TGF-β 2 is a growth factor protein that plays a major role in wound healing and was originally extracted from cow bones and now can be manufactured in the laboratory to meet growing needs. In the early 1990s, Bert M. Glaser and others at St. Joseph Hospital first used this growth factor in humans. The Glaser team reported in the Journal of Ophthalmology in July 1992 that in 10 of 11 patients who received the highest doses of TGF-β 2
