A recent issue of the U.S. Journal of Epidemiology pointed out that women who eat seafood at least twice weekly have a 25% lower risk of depression. The study found that there is a strong correlation between the number of women eating fish and the risk of depression. The results showed that women who ate fish every other week had a 6% reduction in the risk of depression; women who ate more than twice a week than women who ate twice a week had a 25% reduction in the risk of depression. However, for men, there is no such good thing. The reason may be because men get more omega-3 fatty acids than women from other dietary sources, especially meat. Part of the human brain is composed of omega 3 fatty acids long chain fatty acids, which are common substances in fish oil.
