sageism(性别年龄歧视)为不可数名词。据Wordspy网站介绍,其英文意思为:“Discrimination based on a pe rson’s gender and age,particularly discrimination against older women.”(基于人的性别和年龄的歧视,尤指针对年长女性的歧视。)sageism是~sexism([尤指对女性的]性别歧视)和ageism(对老年人的歧视;[对特定年龄人们的]年龄歧视)组成的合成词。此词是休·奥布赖恩(Sue O’Brien)1997年3月16日在美国《丹佛邮报》(The Denver Post)发表的文章“People Of A Certain Age”(《某一年龄段的人》)中创造的。她在文中写道:“Interesting,isn’t it,that The Times repots that 18 feature films produced in 1996 starred male actors over age 65.Wanna guess how many
