《办公室》出自艾丽丝·门罗的短篇小说集《快乐影子之舞》,小说主要讲述了一个只想找个僻静角落安心写作的女人一次次碰壁与失望的过程。主人公是一位有丈夫,有孩子的知识女性,她想拥有一间自己的办公室,在里面安静地创作小说,可是家人的冷漠,房东的怀疑,乃至自我的否定使她寻找办公室的道路充满坎坷,最后她愤怒地离开了办公室。本文在文本细读的基础上,从家庭、社会和个人三个方面分析女作家面临的创作困境,从中我们可以看出门罗对女性创作的思考。
“Office” is a collection of short stories by Alice Monroe, “Happy Shadow Dance,” in which the novel focuses on the process of a run-in and a disappointment of a woman who only wants to find a secure place to write peacefully. The heroine is a knowledgeable woman who has a husband and a child. She wants to have her own office where her novels are quietly created. However, her family’s indifference, landlord’s suspicion and even self-denial make her find a way to the office full of frustrations Finally, she left the office in anger. Based on the careful reading of the text, this article analyzes the creative predicament faced by women writers from three aspects: family, society and individuals. From this we can see Monroe’s thinking on women’s creation.
