NTT Corporation has developed an optical signal-driven phototransistor called the world’s first stimulus absorber switch. The device can be used to form a logic circuit suitable for optoelectronic devices. Its main components are a multilayer quantum well layer that absorbs or transmits input light, a semiconductor multilayer mirror and a photodetector. The device has a diameter of 100 μm and a thickness of about 10 μm. NTT Corporation said: The device formed by 3mm ~ 2 substrate contains 64 such transistors. NTT explained that the light aligned to the phototransistor is attenuated slightly after it is reflected. Align the control light with the photodetector to output the light density.
