先充入五分之一玻管的甲烷,并用橡皮筋做上记号,通电,使电极开始放电,管内气体先因受热而膨胀,后因分解而增大体积,水从下端导管流入贮水瓶内。五分钟后,气体体积不再增大。这时甲烷分解已毕。停止通电,冷却2—3分钟,可观察到气体体积比原来的增加了一倍,在管壁上也可以看到有碳黑产生。这充分说明甲烷分解为氢气和碳了。 注意点:(1)甲烷必须要检验过,以防混有空气,通电时引起爆炸。(2)两端的橡皮塞必须塞紧,以防气体膨胀时把塞子弹开。 本实验也可用来证明阿佛加德罗定律。
