斯蒂文·郝瑞是20世纪80年代以后对中国西南民族研究卓有成效的少数外国学者之一,他从实地考察出发,特别是对西南地区颇具代表性的彝族的历史、族群认同、文化变迁、教育、彝学史等等进行了学理性的思考、研究和梳理。其研究无疑有助于宣传介绍彝族,同时也有助于从客位的角度丰富西南民族研究成果。 Steven Hao Rui is one of the few foreign scholars who have made fruitful achievements in southwestern ethnic studies since the 1980s. He started from the field investigation, especially the history, ethnic identity and cultural changes of the representative Yi people in southwest China, Education, history of Yi and so on to make rational thinking, research and combing. His research undoubtedly helps to promote the introduction of Yi nationality and at the same time it also helps to enrich the research results of southwestern ethnic people from the perspective of passenger space.
