我县年产粮食4.5亿斤,除出售商品粮2亿斤外,每年约有2.5亿斤粮食分散储存在5万农户家中。由于农户储粮设备简陋,缺乏储粮知识和管理经验,因而虫、霉、鼠、雀危害损失惊人。据80年代初的一次抽样调查表明,全县粮食产后平均损失率7.8%,严重的高达20%以上。按年储量2.5亿斤计算,每年损失粮食近2000万斤,这相当于2万亩良团的一年收获。更有甚者,个别农户甚至滥用农药防治储粮害
Our county produces 450 million jin of grain per year. In addition to selling 2 billion jin of commercial grain, about 250 million jin of grain is stored and dispersed in 50,000 peasant households annually. Owing to the crude storage equipment of farmers and the lack of grain storage knowledge and management experience, pests, mildew, rat and bird damage have been extremely devastating. According to a sample survey conducted in the early 1980s, the average loss rate of post-natal grain production in the county was 7.8%, which was as high as 20% or more. According to annual reserves of 250 million kilograms, the annual loss of food nearly 20 million pounds, which is equivalent to 2 million mu of good harvest year.
